After Your Run, Step on Your Mat
Give yourself the gift of 10 minutes on your yoga mat.
You made time to hit the trails or the treadmill for a run today and you’re feeling good, but your muscles are tight and as you cool down, you might feel stiff. An hour of yoga would be the perfect way to end your movement practice, but who has that much time? You’re busy. I totally get it. Give yourself the gift of 10 minutes of yoga instead.
Spending 10 minutes on your mat after your run to stretch your hips, glutes, hamstrings, quads and back can be the perfect way to thank your body for its hard work. It’s an amazing way to pause and take stock of how far you’ve come. Breathe into each stretch, notice how your body feels and thank your muscles for working hard for you today! Then pause and thank yourself for dedicating the time to your joyful movement practice.
