10-Minute Desk Yoga Practice
Yoga at the office
No matter where you’re working these days, chances are good you spend part of your day seated at a desk. You might even spend all day seated in one place, especially if you work from home. Everything is closer to where you work which means less movement in your day. Without trips to the water cooler or the need to walk to a conference room for a meeting, you might find that you rarely move from your workstation and that can cause stiff muscles in your neck, back, shoulders, legs and hips. If you get from your chair and feel more like the Tin Man than yourself, you probably need more movement.
Today’s practice can be done in your desk chair, with limited space and props. We will explore moving in all directions to open up your muscles and release some of the stiffness you’re feeling from hours seated at your desk. Give it a try every day this week and I bet you’ll notice a difference in how you feel.
