Intentional Well-Being Podcast: The Murder of Tyre Nichols

As a mother raising black sons, knowing that Tyre Nichols called out for his mother as he was murdered, speaks to the deepest part of me.

To see yet another black person murdered by police โ€“ I want to know when we as humans are going to do better?

When will these systems that are functioning as they are designed to function โ€“ to hold us down โ€“ be demolished so a new, hopefully, just system can be built?

This episode of the Intentional Well-Being Podcast is raw, vulnerable and painful.

Dianne, I must congratulate you on the very eloquent way you expressed what many black mothers are feeling.
As the mother of a gay, black son I have felt that tug in my soul when I hear about these murders.
I had the misfortune to hear the murder of Tyre and tears came to my eyes, I cannot imagine how his mother must be feeling.
Self-care includes being free to let the world know we are aware of what is happening to us, to grieve and to carry on with hope for the future.
