Intentional Well-Being Podcast: Ditching Diet Culture
We get spicy on this one, and you know I love spice!
What do we get spicy about? Food, of course!
This is such a fun episode for me because I’m such a fan of Abby Langer. Abby is an award-winning dietician who isn’t the slightest bit boring when it comes to food, our relationship with food and how food and diet are treated in western culture. She doesn’t take any crap and at the same time, she offers a message of treating yourself with kindness and grace.
If you feel like you could build a better relationship with food (just like the rest of us), Abby is the person who can help you find the path. She doesn’t just love the science of food and well-being – she loves food itself. She also loves breaking down the lies we are being told about our food and how we can see through those lies.
Like I said, this one gets spicy in the best possible ways!
Abby Langer is an award-winning dietician, public speaker, content creator and author. Her no-nonsense attitude towards food, nutrition, and diet culture has helped her build a thriving online community of people who are removing diet culture from their lives and creating healthy relationships with nutrition and food.
She has worked with a wide variety of brands including Quaker and Butterball, highlighting her permissive and relaxed approach to nutrition and her belief that we can live our best lives without dieting. Her book “Good Food, Bad Diet” focuses on the idea that if you can remove diet culture from your life you can re-build your trust with your body and heal your relationship with food.
