Intentional Well-Being Podcast: Run For Your Life
Any one else have to run the mile in grade school to prove how fit they were?
Any other else find running super enjoyable?
No really, I’m being serious.
Maybe you know clearly because it’s one of your hobbies. Or maybe it’s been a while (or not a all) because it’s currenlty not your thing.
This message is for everyone reading this…
Any body, any size, and age – if running brings joy into your life, then you run. Let go of the notion that you have to look a certain way or move a certain pace to be a runner.
Your body looks the way that it looks for hundreds of different reasons. Your body doesn’t look the way that it looks solely off of the foods you eat and the amount of exercise you give it.
When you run – when you do any form of movement – notice how your body feels when it moves in a way that it wants. Notice how good you feel.
In this episode of the podcast, we are reminded to listen to our own bodies when society is telling us how our bodies should function.

Marci began her running career in 2009. She is now a RRCA and certified running coach for people in larger bodies and slower-paced runners. Her focus is on changing minds and mindsets about running and making running accessible for all kinds of people.
She is a size-inclusive fitness specialist and works to improve fitness spaces for all body types. She’s be featured in Runner’s World and Run for Your Life Magazine.
Like Marci Braithwaite, many people start running in an effort to improve their health by losing weight. It’s a misguided impulse—research shows that losing weight generally has little direct effect on health. But fitness itself, without any change in weight, can have massive benefits for overall health and longevity.
